“When you’re building a network, it isn’t important whether you start out big or small. You just have to do it right. Remember, we all start out in life with one thing in common… we all have the same amount of time in each day. It’s just a matter of what we do with it.”

Networking to Fill your Pipeline

About Topic:
Building your Network before you use it. If you plant an apple seed, you don’t expect that the tree will be providing fresh juicy apples the second it gets planted. It requires watering, weeding and care for some time before it begins bearing fruit. The same is true for a good network. A good network is built by caring and tending over time and genuinely adding value to your connections. A successful network has to be built on helping others with no strings attached. It begins with understanding our own strengths and the needs and wants of others. In using our strengths and abilities to help others accomplish what they want, we build relationships so strong they will continue to pay dividends as long as we maintain them. In this sense we need to be willing to build our networks without a particular ask in mind. Don’t misunderstand, the ask will come, but later, not right away.

Importance of Topic:
Networking becomes a chronicle of your life. The truth of the matter is that none of us can tell which contacts will be the most interesting or most valuable to us as time passes, however with persistence and a genuine desire to stay close to the people we meet, we can expand our relationship timeframe to last a lifetime thereby creating meaningful and lasting relationships that will enrich our lives and make us the wealthiest people alive.
